VECO at Performance Measurement Workshop Sustainable Food Lab

19/01/2015

Our colleague Steff Deprez will participate in a performance measurement community of practice facilitated by the Sustainable Food Lab at the Mars headquarters in McLean, Virginia. Participants will be sharing what they are learning, compare stories and data, and discuss the most productive ways to continue to learn together around designing structures to learn from evidence in smallholder supply chains.

Topics will include farmer segmentation, creating spaces for pre-competitive learning, and data analysis and reporting for optimal uptake and learning. Root Capital will be sharing a fascinating cluster study they have done that identifies enabling factors for successful POs, Unilever will be sharing the learnings from five Smallholder Livelihoods Assessment pilots, and a few companies testing the Shared Approaches Framework in their supply chains. And of course participants will be sharing what they've been learning about some of the harder to measure areas like gender, trading relationships, youth inclusion, and best practice adoption. More information on the website: http://sustainablefoodlab.org/upcoming-studies/pm-3-0.

Steff will be sharing our experience on the use of Sensemaker® to measure and better understand the changes in new business models and the commercial relation between buyers and organised farmers in smallholder chains.
